Founded by the Volkswagen Group and based in Tel Aviv, KONNECT builds a bridge between the VW Group Brands and the dynamic Israeli Startup scene.

As a local innovation arm, KONNECT’s role is to identify, evaluate and scout for Startups and high-tech companies that help drive this vision.

Since its launch in 2018, Konnect supported and initiated numerous scouting projects, market researches, b2b delegation visits and learning journeys, bringing to Israel the highly valuable network of the Volkswagen Group Brands. 


About the Challenge

Konnect – VW Group Innovation Hub TLV and the leading VW Group Brands are launching the Israeli Smart Mobility Startups Challenge 2019.

The goal of the challenge is to find innovative solutions which will shape the future of Autonomous Driving, In-cabin experience, and Industry 4.0 for the Volkswagen Group.

Israeli startups – apply now, and win the opportunity to be among the 10 startups to pitch in an exclusive event on October 30th, in front of a jury of experts from our leading car brands such as Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT, Skoda, Porsche, VW Commercial Vehicles and more.

The top 2 selected startups will win the chance to get up to €25,000* in funding by Konnect for a PoC with one or several of our Group brands.

*Prize – the one or two winning startups will win the opportunity to discuss a potential PoC with one of the Group brands/departments. The Startup that will be chosen by the Brand following such discussions, will enter with the Brand into a mutually agreed scope of the PoC program; this will include, inter alia, a predefined budget and milestones to be delivered with set dates. Konnect will fund up to an aggregate amount of €25,000 of the PoC budget (for both winning startups in total).

*Judging Criteria – the jury of experts will evaluate the startups according to given criteria such as technology & innovation degree, business case, collaboration fit, implementation, team, etc.
